01 _ What we provide

Three pillars of long-term support

Our long-term support model is built around three core services, each designed to keep installed products performing reliably long after commissioning is complete.

Operator Training

Site personnel trained on the equipment they will operate, delivered during installation and commissioning by the engineers who installed the system.

Maintenance Documentation

Installation, maintenance and operating manuals issued for every project, giving site teams the structured reference material to maintain the equipment correctly.

Technical Advisory

Ongoing engineering support across the equipment's service life, covering diagnostic queries, replacement parts and emergency response.
02_ Operator Training

Operator training is delivered on site, typically as a one-day programme run after cold commissioning is complete. The training is led by members of the design, engineering or commissioning team, drawing on direct knowledge of the equipment and its installation rather than on generic course material.

The training covers safe operation, routine checks, basic fault diagnosis and the maintenance procedures documented in the equipment manuals. It's structured to give site teams the confidence to operate the equipment day-to-day and to recognise when escalation to MSS is the right step.

For larger or more complex installations, training programmes can be scaled up to cover multiple operating shifts, technical depth, or specific maintenance procedures.

03_ Maintenance Documentation

Manuals that match the equipment in front of you

Every project is accompanied by a complete documentation pack covering installation, operation and maintenance. The pack is issued at handover and remains the reference document throughout the equipment's service life.

Documentation typically includes:

  • Site installation manual
  • Operation manual
  • Maintenance schedule and procedures
  • Spare parts list
  • Post-commissioning checklist (signed at handover)

Where equipment is updated or modified during its service life, MSS can issue revised documentation as part of the engineering change.

04_ Ongoing Technical Support

Engineering depth, available when you need it

Our long-term support model gives clients direct access to the engineering team that knows the equipment, including:

Replacement parts: Manufacture of replacement parts for installed MSS equipment, including for legacy equipment where original drawings are no longer in active use.

Emergency response: Engineering and commissioning support for urgent on-site issues, with global coverage.

Diagnostic support: Remote engineering input on operational queries, with on-site attendance where required.

Engineering modifications: Design, manufacture and installation of modifications to installed equipment as operational requirements evolve.

The 1950s oil circuit breaker brought back into service after 40 years (covered in the Development Testing case studies) is one example of how our engineering team can support equipment well beyond the manufacturer's expected service life.

01 / Frequently asked questions

Are maintenance contracts available?

Our maintenance support is delivered through documentation, technical advisory and on-call engineering response rather than scheduled service contracts. Clients carry out routine maintenance using the equipment manuals issued at handover, with MSS engineering support available for diagnostics, modifications and emergency response.

Can MSS supply replacement parts for older equipment?

Yes, where possible. We manufacture replacement parts for installed MSS equipment, including for legacy equipment where original drawings are no longer in active use. Each request is reviewed against drawings, materials and current manufacturing capability.

How does MSS support equipment over the long term?

Through a combination of structured documentation, on-site training, replacement parts manufacture, engineering modifications and emergency response. Clients have direct access to the same engineering team that designed and installed the equipment.

What training does MSS provide?

On-site operator training delivered by the design, engineering or commissioning team, typically as a one-day programme after cold commissioning. Larger programmes can be scaled to cover multiple shifts, additional depth or specific maintenance procedures.

Where is technical support available?

Globally. Remote support can typically be provided same-day, with on-site attendance scheduled against project requirements.
